This guide provides links to research databases available through the library as well as selected websites for Art and Music.
Articles and books not held by Torreyson Library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. For research and reference help, e-mail the Cybrarian. If you need immediate help, contact the Reference desk at 450-5224.
DATABASES
- Academic Search Elite
- A multi-disciplinary database offering full text for more than 2,050 scholarly journals. Covering virtually every area of academic study, it offers full text information for many of it's journals dating as far back as 1985.
- CCH Tax Network
- A database offering access to the Internal Revenue Code and information on the following tax related topics: tax news, federal and state income tax, sales tax, financial and estate planning, internatinal tax, accounting and audit, and tax forms.
- GPO Access
- The Catalog of U.S. Government Publications provides an index to print and electronic publications created by Federal agencies. When available, links are provided to the full-text of these publications. Additionally, the locate libraries feature enables users to find libraries by state or area code that can make print publications available for their use. Coverage begins with January 1994. New records are added daily.
- Legal Collection
- Centered on the discipline of law and legal topics, Legal Collection is a collection of respected, scholarly peer-reviewed publications including law journals, documents, and case studies. offers full text for more than 250 of the world's best law journals. This database provides information centered on the discipline of law and legal topics such as criminal justice, federal law, organized crime, medical, labor & human resource law, ethics, the environment and much more.
- Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
- Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search options.
- Lois Law Library To use click on MEMBERS. Call the Reference Desk (450-5224) to get a user i.d. and password.
- Offers a wide range of legal content and supporting materials, including: up-to-date cases, statutes, rules and regulations, and other primary law for all 50 states and federal jurisdictions; expert-authored online treatise libraries, focused around practice areas, including Wigmore on evidence, Ginsberg and Martin on bankruptcy, and Price on estate planning; and extensive public records for individuals and corporations.

- Provides access to 10,912 eBooks and 3,407 publicly accessible eBooks.

- ProQuest Research Library
- Provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including arts, business, children, education, general interest, health, humanities, international, law, military, multicultural, psychology, sciences, social sciences, and women's interests.
- SpringerLink
- Complete tables of content, abstracts and full-text articles from more than 650 journals. Full-text available for subscribed journals. May search using keyword or publication title. For article searching, click the Advanced tab next to the top Search Bar and select "Articles by Text" or scroll down to Browse and Explore.
- Statistical Abstract of the U.S.
- Contains a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States. Selected international data are also included. The Abstract is also your Guide to Sources of other data from the Census Bureau, other Federal agencies, and private organizations.
- United States Code
- Provides access to the most recent official version made available by the US House of Representatives.
- Wilson Web
- Provides a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Includes the following indexes: Applied Science and Technology, Art, Biological and Agricultural, Business, Education, General Science, Humanities, Legal, Readers’ Guide, and Social Science.

- Text of the State Constitution of Arkansas.

- Provides access to US Law Cases & Codes and can be searched a variety of ways, including by case number and practice area. Look under "For Legal Professionals."
- Federal and State Government Resources
- Links to various government resources and websites.
- Internet Legal Research Group
- A categorized index of more than 4000 select web sites in 238 nations, islands, and territories, as well as thousands of locally stored web pages, legal forms, and downloadable files.
- 'Lectric Law Library
- Contains information for both the law profession and the lay person. Areas include the Reference Room, which has a legal dictionary, legal lexicon, and categorized topic areas; and Study of Law Study, with information on law schools, courses, bar exams, and more.
- Legal Information Institute
- From the Cornell University Law School. Areas include: Constitutions & Codes, Court Opinions, Law by Source or Jurisdiction, Introduction to Basic Legal Citation, Topical Libraries, and more.
- State and Local Government on the Net
- Provides links to current state websites. Websites can be located by state, topic, or local government.
- Supreme Court of the United States
- Provides opinions of the Supreme Court, information about the Supreme Court, the Docket, Merits Briefs, Court Rules, Case Handling Guides, Orders and Journal, Oral Arguements, and more.
