Business Subject Guide
This guide provides links to research databases available through the library as well as selected websites for Business and Economics.
Articles and books not held by Torreyson Library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. For research and reference help, e-mail the Cybrarian. If you need immediate help, contact the Reference desk at 450-5224.

- ABI/INFORM Complete
- Provides full-text business periodicals and news sources, covering scholarly research, businesses traditions and trends, corporate strategies, management techniques, and competitive and product information. Academic Search Elite
- A multi-disciplinary database offering full text for more than 2,050 scholarly journals. Covering virtually every area of academic study, it offers full text information for many of it's journals dating as far back as 1985.

- Click on the database tab to access ArticleFirst. OCLC index of articles from the contents pages of journals. Use the Library's Catalog or E-Journal Finder to verify holdings.

Business Source Elite
- Provides full text coverage for 1,133 scholarly business, management and economics journals, including more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and offers indexing and abstracts for more than 1,800 journals. Business Source Elite contains full text from the world's top management and marketing journals including Business Week, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Marketing Research (JMR), Journal of Marketing, etc. Detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies is also provided.
- CCH Tax Network
- A database offering access to the Internal Revenue Code and information on the following tax related topics: tax news, federal and state income tax, sales tax, financial and estate planning, internatinal tax, accounting and audit, and tax forms.

- Click on the database tab to access ECO. An OCLC collection of scholarly journals. Use the Library's Catalog or E-Journal Finder to verify holdings.
- EconLit
- Published by the American Economic Association, EconLit provides bibliographic coverage of a wide range of economics-related literature. An expanded version of the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) indexes of journals, books, and dissertations, EconLit covers both economic theory and application.
- Emerald Full Text Journals
- Emerald currently publishes more than 150 journal titles in the fields of management and information science. A dynamic database product, Emerald Fulltext today offers an expanding collection of 40,000 articles from titles published by Emerald. Subscribed titles are available full text.

- National Trade Data Bank. Provides trade data and information, including, but not limited to: Current exchange rates, current Trade Leads, Global Business Opportunity Leads, Market and Country Research, and International Trade Library Highlights.
- JSTOR Scholarly Journals
- Offers back issues and current issues of 117 journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also includes a selection of titles in the more science-oriented fields of ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
- Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
- Provides full-text documents from over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical, and reference publications with a variety of flexible search options.

- National Newspaper Abstracts
- Provides abstracts and indexing for New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal. Select database from the database drop down menu.

- Incorporates 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. Included in this database are Arizona Business, Business North Carolina, Crain's New York Business (and other Crain Communications editions), Des Moines Business Record, Enterprise Salt Lake City, Fort Worth Business Press, Orange County Business Journal, Westchester County Business Journal, and more.

- Provides current and historical economic and financial releases and economic data. Direct access to the Federal Government's wealth of information on the U.S. Economy.
- Statistical Abstract of the U.S.
- Contains a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States. Selected international data are also included. The Abstract is also your Guide to Sources of other data from the Census Bureau, other Federal agencies, and private organizations.

- Wilson Business Full-text
- Wilson Business Full Text is a full text database that indexes and abstracts articles from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere, including the leading business magazines and trade and research journals, plus the full text of selected periodicals. The abstracts range from 50 to 150 words and describe the content and scope of the source articles. Full text coverage begins in January 1995.
- World Data Analyst Online
- Offers detailed comparisons around the world, using both the most recent statistics and historical figures. Users can create tables and charts and export data to a spreadsheet for printing. Highlights include: country snapshots, comparative statistics, historical statistics, and ranked statistics.

- Provides market information, news, and company information.
- AnnualReports.com
- Provides annual reports for many companies online. May be searched by name, ticker symbol, exchange, industry, or sector.
- Annual Reports Library
- Provides a directory of sites for annual reports. Organized into several categories, including: Non-profit/Charity and Education, and Investors. Also provides resources for preparing annual reports.
- Business Directory - Librarian's Index to the Internet
- Provides links to reviewed sites related Business, including Advertising, Affirmative Action, Business History, Business Law, Contracts, Finance, Industries, Marketing, Patents, and Public Relations.
- Dow Jones Industrial Averages
- Provides information, including index symbols, for the following indexes: The Dow Jones Industrial, Transportation and Utilities Averages
- Hoover's Online
- Provides information on companies including an basic overview, news, and fincial information. Searches may be done by company name, ticker symbol, or by industry group.
- NASDAQ
- Provides quotes, news, market announcments, company financials information, and market activitiy information.
- New York Stock Exchange
- Provides quotes, market activity information, news, regulation information, Company Directory (includes symbol, description, industry, and website link), as well as a Glossary of terms.
- The Public Register's Annual Report Services
- Provides free reports from The Public Register's Annual Report Service (PRARS). While reports are not available online, yearly and quarterly financials information can be viewed. In addition, the site provides information on comapnies in the same industry and the same state.
- SEC Filings and Forms (Edgar)
- All companies, foreign and domestic, are required to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR. Anyone can access and download this information for free. Here you'll find links to a complete list of filings available through EDGAR.
- ThomasNet
- Provides a directory of industrial products, services, and suppliers. Site can be searched by Product/Service, Company name, or Brand. Includes information on the company as well as news on new products.
- US Securities and Exchange Commission
- Website of the SEC. Provides news and public statements, investor information (including in Spanish), and information Regulatory Actions, Litigation, and Staff Interpretations of bulletins.
- Web100 - Big Business on the Web
- The Web100 tracks the largest American and international companies on the Web (ranked by revenue), listing these corporate giants along with their Fortune® 500 and Global 500 rankings. Includes lists by industry and a Global100 list.
- Yahoo! Directory - Business, Finance, and Investment Reference and Guides
- Provides links to various sites offering information on stocks, bonds, etc, plus links to dictionaries and guides.

- Economics Bulletin
- An online journal offering refereed articles, research announcements, and conference information.
- Economics Directory - Librarian's Index to the Internet
- Provides links to reviewed sites related Economics including dictionaries, Environmental Economics, Game Theory, Globalization, History (of Economics), Indicators and Statistics, Macroeconomics, Money, Policy, Sanctions, and Supply and Demand.
- Economics Working Papers
- Provides free distribution of working papers in economics. There are 22 subject areas, along with a test posting area, a meetings area, an area for programs and an area for data.
- Encyclopedia of Law and Economics
- A reference work that attempts to survey the whole law and economics literature in nearly 5,000 pages. Most entries contain two elements: a review of the literature, written by an authority in the field, and a quasi complete bibliography (not just a selection).
- Institute for International Economics
- A private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy. Areas include Country and Regional Studies, Debt and Development, Globalization, International Finance/Macroeconomics, International Trade and Investment, and US Economic Policy.
- Library of Economics and Liberty
- Offers a unique combination of resources for students, teachers, researchers, and aficionados of economic thought. The site features: Authoritative editions of classics in economics, and related works in history, political theory and philosophy; featured columns and articles, including follow-up Letters to the Editor; links to the most commonly-used economics data bases; reading lists and annotated bibliographies organized by topic, for those looking for ideas for further readings; and links to other sites of interest.
