This guide provides links to research and reference databases available through the library as well as selected Internet resources related to Computer Science and Mathematics.
Articles and books not held by Torreyson Library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. For research and reference help, e-mail the Cybrarian. If you need immediate help, contact the Reference desk at 450-5224.
DATABASES
- Academic Search Elite
- A multi-disciplinary database offering full text for more than 2,050 scholarly journals. Covering virtually every area of academic study, it offers full text information for many of it's journals dating as far back as 1985.
- The ACM Digital Library
- A collection of citations and full text from ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) journal and newsletter articles and conference proceedings.

- Find books, movies, and audio books in this user-friendly database of over 5 million titles.
- Britannica Online
- Includes the Encyclopedia Britannica, Britannica Concise Encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Collegiate Thesaurus. Search results include articles in the encyclopedia, web sites, and links to relevant journal articles.
- Directory of Open Access Journals
- This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. There are now 1608 journals in the directory. Currently 402 journals are searchable at article level. Subject areas include: Biology and Life Sciences, Computer Science, Chemistry, History and Archaeology, Philosophy and Religion, Arts and Architecture, Business and Economics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Languages and Literatures, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, and Social Sciences.

- IEEE Computer Society Digital Library
- Provides access to 22 computer society magazines and transactions, and more than 1,700 selected conference proceedings. Subject areas include: Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Computation, Graphics & Multimedia, Internet & Data Technologies, IT & Security, Mobile Computing, Networking, History, Hardware, and Software.
- NetLibrary
- Provides access to 10,912 eBooks and 3,407 publicly accessible eBooks.
- MathSciNet
- A comprehensive database covering the world's mathematical literature since 1940. MathSciNet provides Web access to the bibliographic data and reviews of mathematical research literature contained in the Mathematical Reviews Database. Provideslinks to original articles and other original documents, when available, and encourages links from journal article references to MathSciNet. MathSciNet includes linked reference lists from selected journals.

- ProQuest Research Library

- Sage Journals Online
- Provides full-text and abstracts for journals in a variety of subject areas including Computer Science, Education, Geography, Health/Nursing, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Writing. Full-text available for subscribed journals only.
- ScienceDirect
- Offers an electronic collection of science, technology and medicine full text journals and bibliographic information. Full-text is available for subscribed journals only.
- SpringerLink
- Complete tables of content, abstracts and full-text articles from more than 650 journals. Full-text available for subscribed journals. May search using keyword or publication title. For article searching, click the Advanced tab next to the top Search Bar and select "Articles by Text" or scroll down to Browse and Explore.

- Click on the database tab to access WorldCat. A database of all dissertations and theses available in WorldCat.
- Wilson Web
- Provides a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Includes the following indexes: Applied Science and Technology, Art, Biological and Agricultural, Business, Education, General Science, Humanities, Legal, Readers’ Guide, and Social Science.

- Mathematics Websites
- By Penn State University. Searches web servers which includes math depts, societies and organizations, journals, preprints and other archived materials. The search engine is case-sensitive. Topic areas include: mathematics journals, mathematics software, and societies and associations.
