Focused Topic Guides are lists of resources/articles that focus on specific topics. Examples are: Censorship, Alzheimer's Disease, Terrorism, Enviornmental policies, etc.
In many cases, only abstracts and references are available, however, full-text journal articles and books may be requested via Interlibrary Loan.

- EPA Science by Topic
- Provides a list of research areas comprising traditional areas of environmental concern as well as emerging technologies that may have environmental effects. A listing of ongoing research is provided for each area. Topics include: Air, Conservation, Drinking Water, Pesticides, Pollution Prevention, Water Quality, and more.

- Science Direct offers two different ways to reach "Hot Topics." In the middle column, scroll down for selected articles on various topics. In the third column, under Subject Areas, select the applicable subject area. From the subject areas main page, there are links to articles for Special Issues, Selected Articles, and the Top 25 Hottest Articles in the Subject Area.

- Each subject area includes a list of Top Articles (Most Frequently Accessed), Top Journals (Most Frequently accessed), and Top Books.
