Torreyson Library provides a variety of instructional support services designed to integrate information literacy into your courses in flexible ways. Our instruction program is guided by the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
We provide tailored instruction sessions for your classes, either in person or online. Our librarians work with you to design lessons that align with your course goals and assignments, helping students learn how to:
Request a Library Instruction Session.
We can work with you to create research guides for your course in addition to classroom instruction or as a standalone resource for student learning. These guides include recommended resources, search tips, and assignment-specific help.
Examples
Email libraryinstruction@uca.edu to request a course guide.
We can create department-level research guides that provide a curated overview of discipline-specific databases, journals, citation styles, and research concepts.
Examples
Email libraryinstruction@uca.edu to request a department guide.
Don’t have enough time to incorporate an instruction session into your course? Encourage your students to meet one-on-one or in a small group with a librarian for help at any stage of their research process. Note: Planning for your whole class to meet with us in a short period of time (i.e. in a 1-2 week time frame)? Feel welcome to give us a heads up by sending an email to ask@uca.libasnwers.com.
